Fight Right to Work for Less!

By Nan Melke - Posted on 07 December 2012

Mobilization around trying to stop Right to Work (for Less) RTW continues, we can’t let the bullies in the legislature and Governor’s office just have their way with us.  The bills will be back in front of the Legislature on Tuesday, December 11, and if passed will be sent to the Governor’s office.

Here is what you can do to help:

Saturday, December 8 – make phone calls to get people to Lansing on Tuesday.
10am – 6pm AFT Michigan Office, 2661 E. Jefferson Ave., Detroit, MI 48207
9am – 6pm LEO/GEO office, 330 East Liberty, Suite 3F, Ann Arbor, MI 48104
We will be using a predictive dialing system, so if you have a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or non-Apple tablet to bring with you that would be great.

Sunday, December 9 – make phone calls to get people to Lansing on Tuesday
10am – 6pm AFT Michigan Office, 2661 E. Jefferson Ave., Detroit, MI 48207
9am – 6pm LEO/GEO office, 330 East Liberty, Suite 3F, Ann Arbor, MI 48104
We will be using a predictive dialing system, so if you have a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or non-Apple tablet to bring with you that would be great.

Monday, December 10 – Wear Red to Work in Solidarity
Please try and have everyone wear red to work on Monday as a sign of solidarity with all our union sisters and brothers.  Send us a photo if you can and we will post it on Facebook.

Tuesday, December 11 – Rally at the Capitol
9am at the Lansing Center, 333 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI  48933
We need everyone who can to come to Lansing on Tuesday morning.  Please plan on taking a day off if you can.  If you can’t, who can come in your place – family, friends, retirees?  Every active member should be represented in Lansing on Tuesday!
